Description and Applications:

Oxytocin is a cyclic polypeptide with all the amino acids except glycine being in the L-form. It may be prepared by a process of fractionation from the glands of oxen or other mammals.

Oxytocin is used for stimulation of uterus contractions to facilitate parturition, induced abortion, 

postpartumhemorrhage, fetus membranes retains, and postpartum uterus meromorphosis.
